William W. Long, Jr.

William W. Long, Jr., 93, of Bremerton, passed away on June 7, 2016. He was born on May 22, 1923 to William Sr., and Mathilda (Oleson) Long in Bremerton. He attended Bremerton High School and played on the basketball team that won state championship, for the first time in 1941 and then graduated. Bill proudly served in the US Army Air Force during WWII. He married Valley M. Davidson on June 7, 1944 in Bremerton. Bill retired from PSNS as a planner estimator. He enjoyed watching sports, playing golf, bowling, fishing and hunting. Bill loved hunting in eastern Washington with his family and friends and telling a good story around an evening campfire. Bill is preceded in death by his son, Mark Long. He is survived by his wife of almost 72 years, Valley M. Long of Bremerton; daughter, Bonnie J. Long of Bremerton; and many nieces and nephews.Bill's request, no formal service will be held.
