Virginia Jessie Ashe

–

Bremerton, Washington

We sadly announce the passing of Virginia Jessie Ashe on June 1, 2015 at Harrison Hospital in Bremerton. Virginia was born January 16, 1945 in Los Angeles California. She graduated from Beaumont High School in Beaumont, California in 1962, and went on to complete her degree in mathematics at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. Upon graduation, she worked for many years as a computer programmer.

During her early years, Virginia (or Ginia, as she was known to family and friends) was a very high achiever. Whether it was perfecting a ballet move or sewing a new dress, she set high standards for herself, thus setting the bar high for her three younger siblings. She applied her strong work ethic to her studies, earning the rank of Salutatorian when she graduated from high school.

But her life wasn't just about hard work - Ginia knew how to have fun as well. Whether it was babysitting her younger siblings, going on a shopping trip, or in later years, taking dance classes or attending the opera with friends, she knew how to make the most of life events and she enhanced them with humour and lightheartedness.
In later years, health issues prevented Ginia from pursuing some of her favourite interests, but she continued to pursue crafts and to rescue and care for cats needing a home.

Virginia is predeceased by her parents, Harold Ashe and Clara Ashe. She is survived by brother Bill Ashe, and sisters Karen Clarke and Carolina Ashe, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider a donation to your local no-kill animal shelter.

A private memorial will be held by the family at a later date.
