Vicente Loyola Dela Cruz

–

Bremerton, Washington

Fondly called "Vic" or "Enteng," Vicente was born in Manila, Philippines to Bernabe Dela Cruz and Leona (Loyola) Dela Cruz on January 22, 1935. He passed away on August 30, 2020, at age 85 in Bremerton, Washington after almost a decade of battle with lymphoma.

He is 4th of 10 siblings, namely David (+), Carmelita, Marciano, Rolanda, Ceferina (+), Angelita, Loreta, Ernesto and Reynaldo.

Vic is survived by his loving wife of almost 60 years, Soledad "Sol" Dela Cruz. Together they raised 6 daughters: Amelia, Olivia, Gina, Marivic, Yayo, and Haidee, who all looked up to their father as a person of integrity, gratefulness, peace, humility, and a great sense of humor. He loves to entertain and make people laugh given his knack for storytelling.

He is a doting grandpa to Nicole, Chelsea, Vincent, Callista, Gabrielle, Klyara, and Lorenzo.
Vic was an avid athlete in his youth. His hard work and determination led him to become a well-respected weight lifter and bodybuilder among his peers. He was also an excellent swimmer, and he is well remembered for courageously saving the life of a friend from drowning in a river in Manila. It came as no surprise when he later joined the Philippine Navy, where he served for 18 years.

He and his wife Sol immigrated to Guam in 1993 and later moved to Bremerton, WA in 1995 where he worked various jobs in the US Naval Shipyard in Bremerton until he retired in 2010.
A jack of all trades, he was also a certified Auto Mechanic and would not hesitate to work pro bono to help out those in need. He was most passionate about cars, as well as assembling, repairing, and maintaining vehicles even after his retirement.

A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, neighbor, and friend to many - he will be dearly missed.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, no services will be held at his family's request. A Celebration of Life ceremony will take place at a later date when it is safer for family and friends to gather and remember Vic's legacy.
