Vernon Quatermass

Vern passed away at the Hospice Care Center in Bremerton surrounded by family. Born in Portland, Oregon, his parents were Walter & Ethel Mae
(McInnis) Quatermass. He graduated from Pe Ell H.S. in 1938. He married Ramona Beatrice (Borth)April 24, 1944 in Seattle, Wa. He served in the Navy as a Shipfitter, First Class from 1944-46 and retired from Puget Sound Naval Shipyard as a Production Controller in 1973. Vern enjoyed all sports and coached youth basketball. He served as PTA president and was a member of Bremerton Elks #1181. Vern & Ramona wintered
in Palm Springs area and were active in Shuffleboard. Besides spending time with his family and friends, he loved dancing, fishing and playing cards.
Vern was a true gentleman with a great sense of humor. He is survived by 3 sons John R. (Barb) Quatermass of Gig Harbor, James W.(Connie) Quatermass of Bremerton, Paul D. (Sue) Quatermass of Tacoma;
grandchildren Amy (Brian) Masten, Sarah (Troy) Cook, Kori, Kayce, Phillip, and Peter Quatermass;& great-grandson Jack Cook. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years in 1995. There will be a Celebration of his life at his home April 25, 2009, 1-3 p.m.
