Vernon Dean Huggart Obituary (1936

Vernon Dean Huggart, 80, of Poulsbo (Sep 26, 1936 to Dec 20, 2016) Vernon passed away peacefully in his home following a 3-year valiant battle with 4th stage lung cancer, Wednesday Dec 20, 2016, undergoing four weeks of hospice care. From Silvis, IL, Vern met and married Ann Huggart (Tangerose) on July 27, 1957, in Poulsbo, WA following an honorable discharge from the U.S. Army. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Vernon was born in Gold Township, IL to Edward Huggart (deceased Dec 15, 1993) and Irene(DePauw) (deceased Nov 5, 2009). Survivors are sisters Janette Cornmesser of Moline, IL and Rita O'Dell of East Moline, IL, and brother Edward (Janette) Huggart of Colona, IL, two sons Jeffrey (Kayleen) and Brian of Poulsbo, and three grandchildren, Tiffany and Matthew of Poulsbo, WA and Daniel Magee of Las Vegas, NV. Vernon was a strong man with a kind soul who loved his family and raising limousine cattle on his farm in Kingston. Vernon lived his life to its fullest and passed knowing all would be well. Vern retired as Terminal Manager from the WA State Ferries after 30 years, and also retired as Assistant Chief at North Kitsap Volunteer Fire Department after 30 years. Vernon was loved by all who knew him and will be missed very much. Private Memorial will be held at a date to be determined.
