Sonya Vaughn Obituary (1930

Sonya Vaughn (Husvik) was born in Petersburg, Alaska on May 22, 1930 to Ole and Liv Husvik. She passed away peacefully on September 7, 2010. Sonya is survived by her husband of 60 yrs, Charles Vaughn, her three children; Sandra Rudy (Ron) of Edmonds, WA, Ted Vaughn (Deborah) of Bremerton, WA and Laurie Seehafer (Duane) of Sitka, Alaska and five grandchildren; Sarah, Alicia, Eric, Nicole and Erika. She is also survived by her brother Erling Husvik of Petersburg, Alaska and his family. Sonya grew up in Petersburg, Alaska where she married Charles in her family home on July 6, 1950. They raised their three children in Sitka, Alaska where they lived until they retired to Poulsbo, WA in 1988. Sonya bowled on the Sitka Bowling League, was a Girl Scout Leader and was an active volunteer in the Sitka community. Sonya will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held Friday Sept. 10, 2010 at 3 PM at The Stone Chapel Poulsbo Mortuary, 22272 Foss Rd NE Poulsbo, WA 98370.
