Sigmund Magne Thoresen was welcomed into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 21, 2017.
There are no words to adequately honor Sigmund and the time he spent with all of us.
Sigmund was born in Sauda, Norway on June 2, 1934. He was a man filled with love and passion.
He came to the United Sates in 1962 bringing with him a wife and two young sons. Together they brought a beautiful culture and a world of tradition.
Throughout his life Sigmund was many things. He was a dedicated son, a loving brother, a doting husband, a committed father, a caring uncle, an endearing grandfather and great grandfather, and a passionate Norwegian.
He adored his wife, Kari of 62 years. The love shared between them was nothing short of inspiring.
He was a hardworking man, a merchant marine, a fisherman, a musician, a photographer, a friend, and an excellent cook. He loved to tinker and was a strong role model for everyone who knew him.
He liked his coffee strong and loved his Lutefisk dinners.
He could always be relied on, whether it was for his ability to solve a problem or his sense of humor.
Sigmund is survived by his lovely wife, two sons and daughters in law, three grandchildren, three great grandchildren as well as his four siblings and their families who will carry his joy with them always. He will be greatly missed.
