Ruth ''Boots'' Ada Dunn Obituary (1926

Ruth (''Boots'') Ada Dunn, age 76, of Poulsbo, WA, passed away early Saturday, August 10, 2002 at Martha and Mary Health Care Center in Poulsbo. She was born March 6, 1926 in Tacoma, WA to Charles L. and Frances E. (Martin) Brown. Ruth was raised in Olympia, WA and graduated from Olympia High School in 1944. On June 2, 1946, Ruth married H. Wallace Dunn of Olympia. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Bernard and Susan. Through Wally's work with JC Penny, Boots lived in many places throughout the years. They lived in Tacoma, Portland, Eugene, Kent, Edmonds, Scottsdale, and Sacramento. When they lived in Scottsdale, AZ she volunteered in the Hospital Emergency Room and in Sacramento, CA she was a Consumer Advocate for a local television station. after retirement, Boots and Wally moved to Poulsbo, WA. If the opportunity arose, a trip to the ocean was always a favorite occasion. Boots and Wally enjoyed eating out and trying different cuisines. Ruth is survived by her husband Wallace of Poulsbo, son, Bernard Dunn of Placentia, CA and daughter Susan Ralls and husband Tom of Poulsbo, WA, five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Boots was preceded in death by her brothers; C. Bernard Brown who was killed in China during WWII and her twin brother R. Alan Brown, and two half sisters Anne Tangfeldt and Ellen Pederson. Boots will long be remembered for her wonderful senseof humor, her delicious cooking, and as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Ruth's family will be having a Memorial service in Olympia at a later date.
