Ronald Edward Lombard, born August 30, 1937, in Bremerton, Washington, passed away on the morning of February 7, 2026.

Ron was born to Charles and Alice Lombard and spent his childhood in Bremerton. After graduating from high school, he served honorably as a Crypto Analyst in the United States Air Force. Following his military service, he attended and graduated from Olympic College. Ron then began a distinguished 35year career with the U.S. Geological Survey as a Hydrologic Specialist, retiring in 1994 after decades of dedicated public service.

Throughout his life, Ron was known for his deep commitment to charitable work, especially his support of organizations serving disabled veterans. He was also a proud and lifelong member of the local Elks Lodge, where he built lasting friendships and contributed meaningfully to his community.

Ron enjoyed baseball, bowling, and collecting baseball memorabilia, passions that stayed with him throughout his life. He was deeply loved by his family and friends.

Ron is survived by his children William Lombard, Charles Lombard, and Amy Jones; his sisters Carol Shelly and Dorothy Hawthorn; his granddaughters Kathleen Lombard and Samantha Lombard; and his grandsons Bryce Lombard and Alex Jones.
He was preceded in death by his son Rodney Lombard, his first wife Janice Lombard, and his second wife Rebecca Lombard.

A memorial service will be held on February 25th at 1:00 p.m. at the Gig Harbor Elks Lodge. Ron was laid to rest at the family plot at Mountain View Cemetery in Poulsbo, Washington.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) organization.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the nursing staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital for their compassionate care, and to Dr. Philip Isenberg, whose time, attention, and kindness brought great comfort to Ron in his final days.
