Roger Kent Hood

–

Poulsbo, Washington

Roger 'Kent" Hood died peacefully in his sleep on December 14, 2023, in Silverdale, Washington.

Born March 17, 1945, he was the youngest of four born to Spurgeon and Opal Hood (Clark) in Toppenish, Washington.
Kent married his childhood sweetheart, Helen Lively when they were both just 18 years old. The following year, their first daughter Shelli was born. Three years later daughter Kimberly joined the family.

Always the entrepreneur, Kent owned several successful businesses over the years. Retail fine jewelry stores in his youth, then switching careers entirely to become a general contractor. Kent retired after 25 years in the construction industry after building several hundred homes in Jefferson and Kitsap Counties.

A private pilot for many years, Kent loved airplanes and the freedom flying allowed.

After retirement, Kent and Helen took to the open road and joined the R.V. life. They spent several years in their beautiful coach snow birding between Washington and Arizona.

Kent had the best sense of humor, was quite charming and ohh what a beautiful smile! He will be truly missed by all that knew and loved him.

Kent is survived by his daughters Shelli Cates (Dave) and Kimberly Hillier (Damon), grandchildren Tara Saenz (Josh), Ryan Hood (Sierra), Rodney Hood (Macy), Jesse Bartkowski (Alisha) and Megan, Matthew and Junior Hillier, great grandchildren Lilly, Zoey, Joshua Jr., Westen, Forrest, Noah, and Emerson.
