Robert L. Hiller

Robert L. Hiller, 89, of Marrowstone Island, WA passed away on February 9th, 2009 at Washington State Veteran's Home in Retsil.

He was born on June 9, 1919 in Port Gamble, WA to Peter and Mary Hiller. He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1942-45. He attended LeTourneau College in Longview, TX and graduated with an Engineering degree. He worked as a Civil Engineer at Keyport Naval Base and retired in 1979.

He was a member of the Gideons and Irondale Evangelical Church. He enjoyed farming, raising Black Angus Cattle, horses, and loved all animals especially dogs.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 33 years, Betty. Surviving are his children, Sharon Daley (Robert), Sandra Ide, Eric Hiller (Debra), Tina Esvelt (Rick), Greg Hiller (Robin), Judy Bergstrom (Dan), brother, Jack Hiller (Pat), sister, Nancy Stageberg (Stan), 15 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and former wife, Joy Anderson.
