Patty Kemp

–

Belfair, Washington

Patty Ann Kemp passed away peacefully on June 1, 2026 at the age of 82.

She was born Patty Ann Westcott June 28, 1943 as a twin to her sister Penny Lou. She was also sister to Billie, Dean, Cindy and Bob. She spent her early years in Burien, WA and graduated from Highline High School. She married Timothy Kemp in 1963 and moved to Bremerton to set down roots. Tim and Patty had two children - son, Michael and daughter, Timi.

Patty was a devoted mother, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, and sister whose greatest joy in life was loving the people and animals entrusted to her care. She had a gentle and compassionate spirit that touched everyone who knew her. Her family remembers her as a woman with an extraordinarily kind heart, one who never hesitated to offer comfort, encouragement, or a helping hand.

One of Patty's greatest passions was her time at the horse ranches in WA and AZ. There, she spent countless hours caring for horses and sharing that love with her family. She taught her grandchildren how to ride, groom, and care for horses, creating memories that will be treasured for generations. Over the years, she opened her home and heart to countless pets, strays, and wildlife, caring for each one with the same patience and affection she showed to those she loved. Whether it was feeding a neighborhood raccoon, caring for a feral cat, adopting an elderly dog, or refusing to disturb a spider's web, her compassion knew no bounds.

Patty was a thoughtful and devoted grandmother who made every member of her family feel cherished. She wrote letters filled with encouragement and love, celebrated life's milestones both big and small, and never missed an opportunity to tell her family how proud she was of them. Her grandchildren will forever remember her special nicknames, holiday traditions, warm hugs, and the way she always made them feel seen, valued, and deeply loved.

Even after illness made communication difficult, Patty continued to express her love in every way she could. A squeeze of the hand, a lingering hug, or a familiar smile spoke volumes about the depth of her devotion to her family.

Above all else, Patty's legacy is one of unconditional love. By example, she taught those around her the importance of kindness, loyalty, and believing everyone had goodness inside. She had compassion for all living things, and found joy in life's simple moments. Her presence leaves an immeasurable void, but her example and the memories she created will remain in the hearts of those who loved her.

Patty is survived by her husband Tim, son Mike (wife Debi), daughter Timi (husband James), and sister-in-law Toni. Her much-loved grandchildren include Kameren, Makani (Seioriana), Kahlia, Stephanie, Zack, Junior (Kim), Chris (Melissa), Sarah (Bobby) and Jordan. She was also blessed to love five great-grandchildren and with a granddaughter on the way. In addition, she is survived by brother Dean (wife Paulette) and sister Billie Lee.

She was preceded in death by her sisters Penny, Cindy and brother Bob.

Those wishing to honor her memory can simply perform an act of kindness for a person or animal in need.
