Merrie Louise Stoeckmann Obituary (1922

Merrie Louise Stoeckmann age 84, of Poulsbo died in a tragic traffic accident in Poulsbo, Washington on June 17, 2006. Merrie was born April 16, 1922 in Sandpoint, Idaho to Alverla (Case) and Charles Groves. She was educated in Idaho, graduating High School in Sandpoint and Business College in Boise. On August 24, 1947, she wed George R. Stoeckmann in Sandpoint, Idaho. Merrie was employed by Eastman Kodak, where she learned about photography; worked in Civil Service for the US Navy during the war as a secretary and for Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company as a bookkeeper. Merrie enjoyed gardening and photography and in her early years enjoyed sewing and playing the clarinet. Merrie was of the Methodist faith. Merrie is survived by her husband George of Poulsbo; daughters Kathryn and husband Douglas Seals of Seabeck, Martha Stoeckmann-Reynolds of Cayucos, CA; grandchildren Arin and husband Nick Starkel, Zachary Seals and wife Courtney; 4 great-grandchildren and her brother James and wife Virginia of Fairbanks, Alaska. Merrie was preceded in death by her parents, and sisters Anna Bergman, Lillian Wisdom and Margaret Smith and many nieces and nephews.
