Martha Marie Buttlar

–

Bremerton, Washington

Martha Marie Buttlar, 55, of Bremerton died Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Harrison Medical Center surrounded by her family.
Martha was born January 12, 1960 at the Air Force Base in Okinawa, Japan to Elizabeth Christine Flowers McGlothren and Preston John McGlothren. She was the youngest of four children. She often joked about being "made in Japan".
She attended Pensacola Junior College after graduating from High School in Pensacola, Florida. She continued her education in accounting at Hawaii Pacific University. She strived to be the best she could be at her profession by continually taking classes that would improve her skills. Throughout her career she was a professional bookkeeper for companies and accounting firms. She also worked as a respiratory therapist, Certified Nursing Assistant and served as ombudswoman for the USS New York City.
She met her husband, Harold Lloyd Buttlar, through the internet where they discovered a connection between family and friends. They were married on January 31, 2002.
Martha loved animals, domestic and wild. Raccoons somehow knew they were in for a treat if they hung out at her door. Her favorite animals were her cats. They were precious to her. She also enjoyed vacationing in Florida and Mexico. But her greatest joy was her family. She loved participating in their activities and was very supportive.
Martha is survived by her husband, Harold Lloyd Buttlar; sons Preston (Lauren) Carson, Ryan (Ashley) Buttlar and daughter Lauren (Paul) Bergen; four grandchildren Kennady, Colton, Shaun and Madelyn; and siblings Sharon (John) Vonderhaar, Wayne (Melanie) McGlothren and JoAnn Wolff. She is predeceased by her parents, Christine and John McGlothren, her niece Diane Bush, and cousin-in-law Steven Powell.
