Marsha Ann (Skartvedt) Murphy, 74, passed away peacefully on July 30th. Marsha was born on July 18, 1948 in Seattle, the daughter of Ellsworth and Betty Skartvedt. She was raised in north Seattle. Marsha graduated from Blanchet High school with the class of 1966. In 1969 she was united in marriage to William Drew Murphy. Marsha and Drew's marriage of 53 years was blessed with two daughters, Megan (Ryan) Meno of Bothell and Brenna (Andrew) Drennen of Bellingham. Together they have four beloved grandchildren: Madeline, Rosy, Jacob, and Natalie.
She is survived by her husband Drew of Port Ludlow, WA. Marsha was the eldest of nine children. Marsha is survived by sisters: Sheree (Craig) Sheets, Kyle (Steve) Woodhouse, Kim (Greg) Jesionowski and Constance (Scott) Starbard. She is also survived by two brothers, Greg (Connie) and Brad (Rachel). She was preceded in death by brothers Patrick and Stephen.
Marsha was a loving, intelligent, and fun person with a quick warm laugh that would bring other people into laughter as well. After high school she graduated from business technical school and worked as a legal secretary for many years. She was precise to the penny, so, later in life she found her calling in bookkeeping for real estate.
Marsha had a good life, wonderful family, cherished friends, loving husband, and faith in the Lord. She was passionate about spending time with friends and her large family. Marsha loved family gatherings whether at holiday times or coffee with her sisters, sharing news, memories, and laughs. Marsha was a devoted mother and wife. She was very proud of her daughters and sons-in-laws and cherished every moment she got to spend with her grandchildren.
Marsha was an avid reader, and loved her book club, where "some" commentary was made about the books, but really, more fun was had. Marsha and Drew enjoyed traveling, with many trips near and far, and creating memorable albums. She was active in tennis and golf. She will be dearly missed.
She held various supportive roles in the community such as serving on the National Legal Secretaries Board, Chair of the Social Committee at Sand Point Golf Club, president of the school PTA, Campfire Leader, and serving as a Hospice volunteer.
