Marjorie Wenzl

–

Bremerton, Washington

Marjorie “Marge” Marie Wenzl, 94, of Bremerton, Washington, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 4, 2026, while under the compassionate care of The Cottage assisted living facility.

Marge was born on October 31, 1931, in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, to Villa and Odelia (Butak) Beaudette. She was raised on the family’s farm in Chippewa Falls, a place that remains in the family to this day and always held a special place in her heart.

In 1951, Marge ventured west and made Bremerton her home. Throughout her career, she worked for a local law firm, the Bremerton School District, and Puget Sound Power & Light Company, where she remained until her retirement in1993.

On December 16, 1970, she married the love of her life, James “Jim” Wenzl. Together they shared a wonderful life filled with family road trips with their three children, travel adventures and countless happy moments simply enjoying each other’s company.

Marge embraced life with enthusiasm. She enjoyed spending time at the YMCA, reading, and savoring life’s simple pleasures-especially a good cup of coffee or a bowl of ice cream. She was also a longtime member of the Bremerton Soroptomist Club. Above all else, Marge cherished the time she spent with her family and friends.

She is survived by her son, Joe (Debbie) Sexton; her daughters, Jan (John) Holderbach and Kim Novak; her grandchildren Erik Sexton, Shannon Stampfli, and Nicole Novak; her great-grandchildren, Easton and Gracelynn Stampfli and Mason Sexton; her step-grandchildren, Josh Holderbach and Kelli Norcross; her step-great-grandchildren, Ashton, Spencer, Abby, and Braxton; her sister, Pat Krafcik; and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Jim; and her brothers, Ambrose, Dan, and Lawrence.

Whether you knew her as Mom, Grandma, GG, Marge, Aunt Marge, Aunt Mag, Big Mag, or “Taz”, you knew a woman whose heart was full of love, kindness, laughter, and generosity. She had a remarkable way of making people feel welcome, cared for, and appreciated. Her warmth, sense of humor, and love for life will be deeply missed, but the memories she created with those she loved will be treasured forever.

The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the caring staff of Shalom Hospice of Puget Sound and the wonderful caregivers at The Cottage assisted living for their kindness, compassion, and exceptional care during Marge’s final days.

A private family graveside service will be held. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Marge’s life at Brother Don’s, 4200 Kitsap Way, Bremerton, on Saturday, July 18, 2026 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Marge by sharing a cup of coffee, enjoying a scoop of ice cream, or spending time with those you love-just as she would have wanted.
