Maria Lourdes Juco Sicat, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on March 12th, 2026. Her life was a testament to love, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her family and friends.
Maria was born on February 1st, 1953, in Pampanga, Philippines to Teresita and Benjamin Juco Sr. She was raised there alongside her seven siblings: Henry, Roger, Bernadette, Benjamin Jr., Tony, Rose, and Danny. From an early age, she embodied compassion and care — qualities that would guide her throughout her life. She pursued a career in nursing in the Philippines, where she also met her husband, Enrique, whom she loved. Together, they welcomed their first daughter, Joanna.
In 1986, Maria and her family immigrated to Canada before eventually settling in the United States. They made their home in Bremerton, Washington, where Chris and Charlene were born. They raised their three children with deep love and devotion.
Maria dedicated her professional life to caring for others. She supported military families by working as a child development educator. She found immense joy in nurturing young children, and her love for lullabies reflected the tenderness she brought to work and into her home. Through her career, she built lasting friendships and left a meaningful impact on countless lives.
Family was at the heart of everything Maria did. She warmly embraced her son-in-law Devin, and daughter-in-law, Denise into the family. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Bella, Jordan, and Josie, who brought her endless joy. She treasured every moment spent playing, singing, and sharing laughter with them.
Maria found happiness in life’s simple pleasures—laughing with loved ones, dancing, playing bingo and mahjong, and occasionally trying her luck at penny slot machines. She enjoyed long walks and heartfelt conversations. A gifted cook, Maria expressed her love through food by preparing cherished family recipes passed down from her mother. She had a special fondness for mangoes and ice cream, a treat that never failed to bring her joy.
Known for her gentle spirit, radiant smile, and selfless heart, Maria always sought to bring happiness to those around her. When asked about her proudest accomplishment, she humbly said it was watching her children grow up.
Maria is lovingly remembered by her husband, Enrique; her children, Joanna, Chris and Denise, Charlene and Devin; her grandchildren, Bella, Jordan, and Josie; her seven siblings; and the family dogs, Bruce Wayne, Lulu, Bubba, and Willy. Her legacy of love, kindness, and devotion, will live on in all who knew her.
Maria will be deeply missed. Forever loved, and always remembered.
Friends and family are invited to remember Maria at her visitation on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 10:30 am at Our Lady Star of the Sea, located at 500 Veneta Avenue, Bremerton, Washington, 98337.
