Maralyn Virginia VanRooij

Maralyn Virginia VanRooij, 86, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2013, in Bremerton. She was born on December 19, 1926 in Portland, ME to John and Mabel (Hansen) McCormick. She was a skilled and dedicated Burn Technician for over 15 years at UCI Hospital in Orange, CA. Maralyn was an avid member of the Elks Club of Bremerton; who also enjoyed playing Bingo and going to the casino. She was predeceased by her husband Jeff who passed away in 2000. Maralyn is survived by her sons, James Steger Jr. of Santa Ana, CA, Michael Steger of Bremerton, WA; Daughters, Frankie (T.J.) Duchesneau of Bremerton, WA, and Susan West of Grass Valley, CA; Sister, Honey Bourque of CA; 11 Grandchildren; and over 20 Great-Grandchildren. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Frankie's house. Memorial donations can be made to the Seattle Children's Hospital.
