Louise Powell Smith

Louise Powell Smith age 88, of departed July 17, 2004 at her home in Bremerton. Louise was born September 24, 1915 in Pea Ridge, Arkansas to Bruce and Katherine (Larson) Powell. She attended school in Texas and North Bend, WA. Louise retired form the Bremerton School District after 20 years of service as a secretary. She enjoyed shopping, adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, was a socializer and "Party Girl", loved Hawaii, and traveling. She was a member of The Order of Eastern Star, First Christian Church and Retired State Employee's. She was dedicated to her church. She will be sorely missed by her son David Wotruba and Vicky Varrier of Bremerton; daughters Kathie and husband George Harless of Bremerton, WA, Virignia and husband Simon of Chicago, Illinois; stepchildren Kathleen and Donna; her brother Edmund Powell of Twin Falls, Idaho; 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Joe Cook, and grandson Jim Davies. A time of visitation will be held Thursday, July 22, 2004, 9-6. Funeral Services will be held Friday, July 23, 2004, 1 PM at Lewis Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
