Lee Michael Boad

–

Bremerton, Washington

Lee Michael Boad, 43, of Belfair, Washington passed away August 7, 2021 from a brain bleed. Lee was born on April 5th, 1978 in Bremerton, WA. Beloved by his parents, sisters, children, extended family, classmates, friends, coworkers, people he helped, children he coached and educated, the breadth of lives he touched reaches far and wide. Lee is a fourth-generation Belfair resident who also resided in Dewato, Tahuya, and Allyn. Lee spent his childhood on the rivers, lakes, and streams of North Mason County where he could be found fishing with friends, family, his dog and sometimes, his goat. Lee's love for the creatures and plants in the lush environments caught the eye and heart of his mentor high school science teacher, who helped guide him through high school at North Mason HS, where he is remembered as a loyal and fun-loving friend.

Lee attended Central Washington University where he explored, fished, and hunted the rivers and hills of Central Washington with his friends and dogs. While earning a degree in Biology, Lee married Megan Baze, also a North Mason graduate, on September 11, 1999. Lee graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2001.

Lee returned to Belfair and started his career as a wetlands biologist at the Theler Wetland Institute sharing his passion and wisdom with the students of NMHS. Lee also worked with the Hood Canal Salmon Enhancement Group, helping to bring his treasured salmon back to the rivers of his home. Lee founded The Wetland Corps, a successful wetland consulting business, and continued to preserve the natural ecology of the environment. This offered Lee the opportunity to travel all over the Puget Sound, and to other states, affording him many adventures with many people.

His most successful adventures are his three amazing children whom he adored and was always so proud of. His circles of friends know him as ever-present, broad-smiled, and willing to give the shirt off his back. His generosity and willingness to help those in need was evident in the many lives he touched. His story-telling ability is unparalleled. Every soul Lee crossed heard tales of the wondrous fish he caught, elk he hunted, rides he took, friends he reveled with, waters he crossed in canoes or boats, houses he built, mountains he climbed and snowboarded, characters he met, and dogs he trained. Lee shared warm-hearted stories of grandparents who admired him, children who have his kind eyes and huge heart, sisters who held him high, and parents who held him close.

Lee is survived by his parents, Roy E. (Butch) and Laura Boad (Foster) of Belfair, his son, Sawyer Boad, and his daughters, Natalie Boad and Lillian Boad of Belfair, his sisters Shirlene Brown of Lake Las Vegas, Nevada, Teresa Clifton of Puyallup, Jessica Hostetter of Seattle, Heather Lane of Snohomish, and Megan Orr of Auburn. His Labrador puppy, Rambo, will reside with his children.

A private service was officiated by Kris Rocke. Memorial donations will benefit Lee's children's post-secondary education and can be made to Lee Boad Memorial Donations c/o Butch and Laura Boad 260 NE Riverhill Dr., Belfair, WA 98528.
