John would continue to be a good husband and father to his family.
Later in life, John would battle several health issues which would limit his ability to stay active in his retirement years, but he was able to volunteer at the Central Kitsap food bank for a time. John also became a huge fan of Gonzaga basketball, and followed them closely on tv.
