Joanne C. (Pendergast) Pringle

–

Bremerton, Washington

Joanne C. (Pendergast) Pringle, 73, of Lacey, WA and formerly of Bremerton and Everett, WA, passed away on April 12, 2017. Joanne was born in Syracuse, NY to Andrew and Audrey (Cooke) Pendergast. She traveled with her parents to Bremerton when her father, Andy, went to work in the Shipyard, later becoming the Recreational Director for the City of Bremerton.

Joanne attended Bremerton Schools and graduated from East Bremerton High School. This is where she met the love of her life, Jim. They dated through high school and married when Jim graduated from Western Washington University in 1962.

Jim and Joanne moved to Everett when Jim took a position as a biology teacher at the then new Cascade High School. Joanne continued to work doing what she loved, swimming and aquatics, becoming the swimming coach at Cascade. She also worked summers at a private swim and tennis club giving swimming lessons. Joanne's love of swimming moved her to produce an aquatics program which included synchronized swimming for the young ladies of the club, which was taught at a very high professional level.

Jim and Joanne have three children whom she loved very much; John Pringle of Wenatchee, who followed in his mother's footsteps being an aquatics and swimming coach; her daughter, Janine Blatt of Portland, who is a successful attorney; and her youngest son, Joseph Pringle, who is a successful businessman in Tacoma. They also have 8 grandchildren who are an important part of Jim and Joanne's life: Geoffrey, Philip, Austin, Justin, Kaleb, Cole, Chase and Chelsey. Joanne also is survived by her four siblings, Mary Ellin, Patrick, Sally and James.

Jim, her husband of 54 years, will miss her more than anyone will be able to know. May God take Joanne to Himself and look over her forever.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, April 27th at 11:30am at Lewis Funeral Chapel with a reception to follow. Inurnment was at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
