Jean L. Wasson

Jean L. Wasson, 87, of Poulsbo passed away on March 9, 2015 in Bremerton. She was born on August 8, 1927, on the cook's table at a logging camp in Afton, WY, to Ralph E. and Helen R. (Gregory) Davids. She was a graduate of Vancouver High School in Vancouver, WA and the University of Washington in Seattle earning a BA in Economics and Business. She married John A. Wasson on September 19, 1949. Jean served on the North Kitsap School Board for 16 years and on the Olympic ESD School Board for 14 years. She was a devoted homemaker and belonged to several organizations including WA Association of School Directors WSSDA, First Christian Church in Bremerton and the Kitsap Republican Women's Group. She enjoyed knitting, spending time with her family, traveling, attending church, history and charitable work. She is survived by her sons Ralph Wasson of Tacoma, John Wasson Jr. of Bremerton, daughters Awnie Thompson of Seattle, Wendy Marle of San Jose, CA, foster daughter Tammy Kelley of Louisville, KY, sister Lois Nelson of Battleground, WA, 5 grandchildren , 2 great grandchildren and many step grandchildren and great grandchildren she was delighted to have in her family.
