Janine Ilona Rinehart Obituary (1943

Janine Ilona Rinehart, 80, of Bremerton, Washington died on February 9, 2024, at home in Bremerton. She was born March 3, 1943, in Bremerton, Washington to Simon and Anna "Aileen" Hess (Werner). After graduating from Central Kitsap High School and the University of Washington, she lived in Augsburg, Hannover and Stade, Germany for approximately 2.5 years. There she taught within the Germany Public School System at Gymnasium Warstade (a 13-year high school). While living in Germany she traveled throughout Europe. In 1972 she married Thomas Rinehart and later divorced. Janine taught German at East High and Bremerton High School for 29 years. Janine loved to play golf, both casually and competitively, in the area, and at Gold Mountain, where she had a long-standing membership and many club championships. Other pastimes included gardening, salmon and steelhead fishing, and playing cards. Survivors include her nephew Jim Hess, niece Kathy Black and their families. Her brother, Dick Hess and sister-in-law Bettie Hess preceded her in death as did her father, Simon Hess in 1996 and mother, Anna Aileen Hess in 2006.
