Jamey Murphy

–

Bremerton, Washington

Jamey Iven Murphy, 67, of Bremerton, WA passed away peacefully on June 21, 2025 in Gig Harbor, Washington.

Born in Athens, Tennessee, Jamey proudly served in the U.S. Navy, rising to the rank of Senior Chief Radioman. Much of his career was spent aboard submarines, where he became a trusted leader in communications and training. His dedication to service and country was matched only by his devotion to his family.

Never one to stop learning, Jamey returned to school after his military career and earned his associate degree. He remained passionate about technology, loved working with computers, and could often be found indulging in two of his favorite things: researching fast cars and watching classic cartoons. He and his cherished late wife Jennie loved to go for long drives and explore the Pacific Northwest. His greatest joy however, was being “Pappaw”. He always had a funny joke to share and often showered his grandchildren with thoughtful gifts. He was the heart and humor of his family.

Jamey was preceded in death by his beloved wife Jennie, his daughter Renee, and his father Elmer. He is survived by his son Damian, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, his mother, and his siblings in Tennessee.
