James Robert Mey

James Robert Mey, 82, of Silverdale passed away on December 1, 2015 in Poulsbo at Martha and Mary Health Services. He was born on April 17, 1933 to Edward and Margaret (Dowd) Mey in Granite Falls, WA.

Jim married Colleen Langill on April 2, 1955 in Silverdale, WA.

Jim proudly served in the Army National Guard for 22 years as a MSGT E8. He worked as a supervisor at PSNS as a nuclear component cleaner foreman. Jim was the Senior Saints Leader and Tour Guide for the Silverdale Methodist Church. He enjoyed working in his woodshop and traveling to Palm Springs for the winter months. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, sister Dorothy Johnson and brother John Mey.

He is survived by his wife Colleen of Silverdale, son Robert Mey of Silverdale, daughter Jeanine Hurst of Silverdale, sister Helen Fry of Las Vegas, NV, grandchildren Danielle Hurst (Danny) Bergquist, Cherie (Tyler) Cowgill, 6 great grandchildren Isabella, Cheyenne, Quinn, Jackson, Brooklyn and Temperance.

A celebration of Life will be held on January 9th at 1pm at The Silverdale United Methodist Church, 9982 Silverdale Way NW, Silverdale, WA 98383.

Arrangements are entrusted to Lewis Funeral Chapel and Forest Lawn Cemetery.
