Bremerton, Washington
James Don Case, age 57, of Bremerton, WA, was called home to the Lord on September 10 after a valiant battle with bile duct cancer. He passed with family and his precious kitty cat by his side. He was born on December 7, 1967 in Decatur, AL to Fred and Elaine Case.
A proud father of 10, he cherished his role as a Dad and Grandpa and leaves a lasting legacy through his children. He was a great friend who would do anything at the drop of a hat for his family and friends. He was a career Navy man with 20 years of active duty and 17 years as a Navy civil servant. He was a passionate Alabama Crimson Tide football fan, and enjoyed cars and history shows. He also loved attending the annual local air shows in Bremerton with his kids. He could often be found watching an episode of Vicegrip Garage or Forged in Fire. He was interested in the history of wars and loved to watch documentaries on YouTube, such as shows about old war birds and Indy Neidell, which is where he discovered his favorite band, Sabaton, a Swedish band that sings about the history of wars as well. He would often sing along with them when having bonfires or listening to them on Alexa. Jim loved to camp and loved road trips and went on many in the past few years. He really enjoyed driving his Dodge Challenger and was a true Southern Gentleman, always doing many things for everyone and animals too. Jim was always smiling, even through his cancer journey, and his children made him laugh so much. His favorite thing to do was just hang out with his children as they joked around and picked on each other in true sibling fashion. He was truly a gentle and sweet man who wanted a simple life.
He is survived by his children, Morgan Knight (Michael), Gretchen Case Sunga (Paul), Stefan Case (Savanah), Jonah Case, Angelica Case Ziemann (Logan), Kayla Case, Donovan Case, Lily Case, Landon Case, Hudson Case; his devoted partner, Lisa Holland; brothers, Bob Case (Cindy), Scott Case (Dara); and grandchildren, Maren Knight, Maverick Knight, Owen Case, Lila Case, Mason Ziemann, and Winona Ziemann. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Elaine Case.
A memorial service will be held on October 3rd at Tahoma National Cemetery. The service will be a private burial service and Military send-off with immediate family only. A celebration of life will be held for those wanting to pay their respects at the Seabeck Conference Center, located at 13395 Lagoon Dr NW, Seabeck, WA 98380 on October 4th at 1400.
We encourage you to share your favorite memories of James or upload photos to the memorial page. This will serve as a comforting reminder of the love and joy James brought into our lives.
May he rest in the eternal peace of his Savior, as we find comfort in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” Fair winds and following seas, Jim!
