Helen Mabel Westover

Helen Mabel Westover, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend passed away to be with our Lord on February 17, 2017.

Helen was born on the family homestead near Rapid City, South Dakota, October 31, 1923. She was the fifth of eight children. After graduating from nursing school in Sheridan Wyoming, Helen moved to Bremerton to work with her sister, Ruth at Harrison Hospital on Chester Avenue. Helen married a young shipyard worker and WWII veteran, Ken Westover. After their two boys were in school, Helen went back to work with Doctor Foley at the original Doctor's Clinic.

Helen was an active member of Lincoln Avenue Bible Church for 50 years. She helped to organize countless potlucks and coffee hours with cookies. Helen will be remembered for her faithfulness, beautiful countenance and servant's heart.

Helen was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, "Kenny;" her parents Jim and Belle (Grein) Neely; sisters Ruth, Wanda, Alta Mae, Pearl and brothers Orlin, John and Bob.

Surviving are her sons, Steve (Connie), Mark (Dolly); loving grandsons Mike (Sara), Matt (Kristin), JR and cherished great-granddaughter Charlotte. Helen was happily anticipating two new "greats" this spring.

Services will be held at 1:00, Saturday, February 25 at LABC, Lincoln and Chester Avenue, reception to follow. Memorial donation may be made to LABC Women's Ministries.
