Harold ''Hal'' August Jurgemeyer Jr. Obituary (1942

Harold A. ''Hal'' Jurgemeyer Jr. entered into rest on May 16, 2003 at the Northwoods Lodge in Silverdale , WA after a lengthy bout with cancer. Hal was born on October 11, 1942 in Honolulu, Hawaii to Harold Jurgemeyer Sr. and Florence (Block) Jurgemeyer. He attended James B. Castle High School in Kaneohe, Hawaii graduating in 1961. After graduation Hal entered into the United States Air Force in 1963 and was honorably discharged in 1969 having attained the rank of Master Sargeant. In 1973 Hal moved to Washington where he re-enlisted with the Air Force and was with the reserves at McChord Air Force Base until 2002. He worked as a quality assurance specialist for the Naval Undersea Warfare Base at Keyport, WA until his retirement on May 2, 2003. Hal loved gardening and was into computers and photography. He is survived by his mother Florence Jurgemeyer of Huntington Beach, CA, his son Alex Michael Jurgemeyer of Silverdale, WA, his daughter Alyssa Dianne Jurgemeyer of Silverdale, WA, and his sister Sylvia Van Houten and her husband James of Huntington Beach, CA. Inurnment services will take place on Friday, May 23, 2003 at 10:00 AM at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA. A memorial service that same day will take place at 3:30 PM at the Silverdale Lutheran Church.
