Harold A. Paulsen Obituary (1921

Harold A. "Bud" Paulsen of Poulsbo, WA passed away on April 28, 2005. He was 83 years of age. Harold was born to Harold and Eleanor (Anderson) Paulsen, Sr. on August 4, 1921 in Minneapolis, MN. Harold graduated from Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis and went on to graduate from Iowa State University, Yale University, and Colorado State University with a Doctorate. He married June Hamiel in San Marcos, TX on March 18, 1944. Harold served in the Airforce from 1942-1946 and received two purple hearts, four air medals and a distinguished flying cross. He worked as a range scientist for the US Forest Service for 30 years and retired in 1977. Harold was member of the Kwanis in Colorado, and the National Association of Reitred Federal Employees. He was an avid golfer, fisherman, and outdoorsman. He was previously active in Trinity Lutheran Church in Colorado and was active in at the Silverdale Lutheran Church. Harold is survived by his wife June of Poulsbo; sons Craig and wife Kelly of Vashon Island, WA, and Jay and wife Penny of Bainbridge Island, WA; brothers, John Paulsen and wife Nyla of Prescott, AZ and Thomas Paulsen and wife Ardath of Las Vegas, NV; five grandchildren, Jessica, Sarah, Joshua, Malia, and Micah. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Paulsen Brand. A memorial service will be held at the Montclair Park Assisted Living Facility in Poulsbo on Lincoln Rd on Friday May 6th from 6-8pm.
