Hannah Kyongae Park of Bremerton, Washington passed away peacefully on November 2, 2025 after living a fulfilling life in the Lord with God’s many blessings.
She is survived by her three children: Paul (Sunja) Park, Jonathan (Michelle) Park, Duhi (Mac) Schneider; and her grandchildren: Philip (Michelle) Park, James (Jane) Park, Esther (Sam) Park, Sarah (Nathan) Yu, Bethany (Andrew) Park, Wynston Park, Johann (Allison) Schneider, Shiloh (Brandon) Clayton, Justin (Hope) Schneider. She has 16 great grandchildren: Madeline, Celeste, Grace, Leah, Jonah, Noelle, Levi, Linnea, Sheri, Emory, Liam, Stella, Mackey, Isla, Shea, Jack. Hannah was one of 5 siblings and her youngest sister, Ju Ae (Thomas) Song lives in Chicago, Illinois.
Born on September 5, 1930 in South Korea, the 2nd to the youngest child of In Jik Han and Bong-Nae Choon Son, she grew up in a very academic and affluent, environment. She was a young lady full of enthusiasm and many interests which led her to cheerleading both in high school and in college. She went to college in Seoul, South Korea and graduated with a degree in literature. With her many interests, she went on to study European suit pattern making and became a tailor. She also went to school to learn the Hebrew language to understand the Bible better.
Hannah met her husband, Peter Woon Seh Park at a church where she was the organist and he was a choir director. They were blessed to be married for 59 years before Peter went to be with the Lord in January of 2011. During their life time together, they did so much mission work and one of them was sending hot air balloons filled with Bibles to North Korea. And as a result, many underground churches were formed. And as a pastor’s wife, she led many Women’s Bible Study groups over the years. She also had heart for the poor and needy, where she used to give food out and feed the beggars who came to her home for food.
In January of 1972, they moved to America with the purpose of starting Korean churches all over the United States. They established churches in Chicago, Milwaukee, Savannah, Ocala, Corpus Christi, Portland, Corvallis, and some home churches. As a side job, Hannah worked as a tailor for Nordstrom for many years and also opened her own tailor shops in Chicago area and Atlanta.
Hannah loved the Word of God with all her heart and practiced what the Bible had to say in her life. And also memorized a large section in her heart. In her life time she wrote so many Bible verses in her hand writing on pieces of paper and if all put together it could almost be the entire bible. Many of these verses were put up on the walls and door frames of her home. She also loved singing the hymn’s out loud by herself and in a group. She knew all four verses of the hymns by heart even toward the end of her life. We are sure that she heard as she entered the gates of heaven, “Well done good and faithful servant.”
A celebration of life service for Hannah was held at the Fieldstone Memory Care Center in Silverdale, Washington on Saturday November 8, 2025 at 10:00AM.
