Haldis Portmann Obituary (1914

Haldis Portmann of Poulsbo, WA passed away on October 25, 2004. She was 90 years of age. Haldis was born in Vinland, WA on February 19, 1914. She graduated from North Kitsap High School in Poulsbo, WA. On August 13, 1938 in Seattle, WA, she married Theodore Portmann. He preceded her in death in 2000. Haldis was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Poulsbo, WA. She was also a member of Ruth's Circle at First Lutheran church, and Kitsap County Dairy Wives. Haldis enjoyed cooking and gardening. She and her husband were the Kitsap County dairy family of the year. Haldis is survived by her sons, Ted (Dawn) of Poulsbo, WA and Dick (Chris) of Green Valley, AZ; daughter, Joy Vchulek (Jim) of Lynnwood, WA; brother, Harry Amundson of Kent, WA; sisters, Lela Johnson of Fernley, NV, Gudrun Keck of Auburn, WA, Ruth Gray of Port Townsend, WA, and Bertha Wickman of Bremerton, WA; grandchildren, Jim, Julia, Brenda, Megan, and Jeffery and 11 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at First Lutheran Church on November 8, 2004 at 1pm. Interment will be private and at First Lutheran Church Cemetery in Poulsbo.
