Bremerton, Washington
Donald Michael Williams, age 82, a lifelong resident of Bremerton, Washington, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Donald was born on July 10, 1944, in Bremerton to Melville and Theora Williams. Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, Donald discovered his natural gift for mechanics at a young age, building his very first go-cart when he was just 12 years old. Throughout his life, there truly wasn’t anything with a motor that he couldn’t fix. This incredible talent and work ethic led him to dedicate many years of hard work to the Bremerton Shipyard, where he was highly respected by his colleagues. A truly gifted craftsman, Donald’s dedication and skill were permanently etched into the local landscape when he built his very own house from the ground up—a home that stood as a testament to his strength, patience, and love for his family. He will be remembered by all who knew him for his fierce tenacity and unwavering dependability; he was a man who could always be counted on to show up and get the job done right.
Without a doubt, the absolute greatest joy of Donald’s life was his family. He loved his children unconditionally, and became the ultimate proud grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a constant source of support, wisdom, and love for his large, growing family.
When he wasn’t working on his home or spending time with family, Donald could often be found working on or driving Jeeps, a lifelong passion of his. He was also an avid sports fan who spent decades passionately cheering on the Seattle Seahawks and the Seattle Mariners through every season.
Donald is survived by his wife of 60 years, Diana Williams; his four children and their spouses, Dawn Roa (Dovy Guillermo), Debbie McQueen-Calhoun (Dave Calhoun), Danielle Stansberry (Brandon Stansberry), and Doug Williams (Melissa Williams); his brother, Norm Williams of Bremerton, WA; and his sister and brother-in-law, Marla and Rich Taylor of Sequim, WA.
He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Chris Williams, Alicia Roa, Joey Droing, Hope Voltz, Heath Voltz, Riley Stansberry, Garrett Stansberry, Dustin Stansberry, Hailey Stansberry, and Cole Williams; as well as his precious great-granddaughter, Opal Montes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Melville and Theora Williams, and his brother, Dick Williams.
A celebration of Donald's life will be held from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Saturday, September 26th at the Eagles Nest Community Building, 1200 NW Fairgrounds Road, Bremerton, WA 98311.
Family and friends are welcome to come together to share memories and honor Donald's legacy. Casual attire, flannels, Seahawks or mariners apparel appreciated.
