Don Dorrell

Donald ''Don'' E. Dorrell, of Port Ludlow, WA, passed away on May 3, 2003 of cancer. He was 69 years of age. Don was born to Vernon and Loma (Evans) Dorrell on December 26, 1933 in Brownsville, Texas.

He graduated from Notre Dame High School in Van Nuys, CA and later achieved a Masters Degree from UCLA in 1974. On April 1, 1973 Don married Joy Hamilton in Santa Barbara, CA.

He served in the US Army during the Korean War and later became a Pilot for TWA. He was a Pilot for 25 years and retired in 1989.

Don enjoyed flying planes, racing gliders, writing, and loving dogs.

He is survived by his wife, Joy; one daughter, Torrie Dorrell-Hopper of Santa Monica, CA; one brother, Vernon Dorrell of Sedona, AZ; and one grandchild.

Services will be held at a later date. Cremation will take place a Cherry Grove Crematory in Poulsbo, WA. Arrangements are under the direction of ''The Stone Chapel'' Poulsbo Mortuary. Memorial donations may be made to the BEST FRIENDS ANIMAL RESCUE (Utah).
