Diram Wayne Hamley Obituary (1947

Diram Wayne Hamley aka " Big D", passed away Dec. 17, 2010 at the age of 63 in Bremerton. He was born June 18, 1947 in New Ulm, MN to Leonard and Lorraine (Turner) Hamley. Diram attended West High School in Bremerton and Olympic College. He joined the USMC at 17 and served from 1965-1969 with one tour in Vietnam. Diram met Sharon in California where he was stationed and they were married Nov. 30, 1968 in Hayward, CA. They moved to Washington in 1971. His employment career started with an apprenticeship at PSNS in Shop 81 as a Foundry Moulder. He retired in 2002 after 35 years of federal service. He was a member of FOE #192 and most recently held the position of Treasurer. He was also a member of Fleet Branch 29. Diram's personal interests were music, reading, golf, playing cards and sports. He was preceded in death by his parents. Diram is survived by his spouse of 42 years, Sharon; sons, Diram of Kingston, Derik (Allison) of Florida and Derc (Shaleia) of Seabeck; brother, Leonard (Alice) of Idaho; sister, Delores Hamley of Bremerton; grandchildren, Dakota, Ravenna, Cameron and Turner; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service with reception will be held at the Bremerton Eagles at 6th and Washington in Bremerton on Jan. 8th at 3pm.
