Clarence Martin

–

Bremerton, Washington

Clarence W. Martin was born May 22, 1926, in Aberdeen, Mississippi (Monroe County), to Cudellous and Cora Martin. In 1943, he joined the US Navy and traveled many tours overseas, enjoying New Zealand the most. Clarence had also spent time stationed throughout the United States and had many stories of his experiences.

He would marry Mary F. Ross (deceased) and have three children whom they would raise in Bremerton, WA.

Clarence retired from the Navy in 1963 to build a career and retire from Keyport/Bangor Base. In retirement, he enjoyed gardening, cooking, hunting, fishing, and most of all, lovingly joking and teasing his family.

His only surviving sibling is his sister Ethel Martin. No longer with us are his sister Lee Davenport, and brother Robert Martin.

He is survived by his three children: Larry, Denise, and Chris.

8 grandchildren: Riah, Jyah, Jeremiah, Brianna, Cheryl, Alyssa, Gabriel, and Christopher.

11 great grandchildren: Izaiah, Nevaeh, Riley, Nyla, Mya, Elijah, Jyah Jr., Josiah, Donovan, Noah, Mila, Carissa,
Malachi, Javonnie, Mylah, and Kahlanii.

His family is grateful that as a patriarch, he taught us how to be good human beings. He shared with us many skills to survive this world, think for ourselves, and not be afraid to walk this journey called life. Our biggest life lesson was how to be a family. He loved his family, and we loved him.
