It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Christina Angelika Lecher, born as Christina Nill on October 1, 1948, in Stuttgart, Germany. She passed peacefully and surrounded by love, April 6, 2025.
In 1952, at the age of 4 she moved to the United States as her father was transferred to Detroit, Michigan to work at the German consulate. The family remained in the country until 1964 when she returned to Germany with her father’s work in the German foreign ministry. Her older siblings remained in the U.S. Christine spoke of her childhood so fondly. She attended wonderful schools, grew up enjoying lake St Clair and made many great friends. When she returned to Germany at the age of 16 she finished high school, college and University. She obtained a teaching degree for English as a second language and social studies. In 1971 she married her high school sweetheart and worked as a bilingual executive assistant at the European headquarters of Proctor and Gamble in Frankfurt, Germany. She was divorced in 1981. In 1985, on a trip to the U.S. to visit family and friends, she met her second husband, Richard. They married in 1986 and she remained in the U.S. She lived and worked in Seattle until 1990 when they moved to Mill Creek, Wa where she worked for ATL, an ultrasound manufacturer in Bothell. In 1990 Richard retired and they bought their home in Poulsbo, Wa. They lived there happily with their sweet fur babies, two cats and two dogs who were very loved and spoiled. She worked from home as a medical transcriptionist until retiring in 2015. Her husband Richard passed in 2013. Christine thoroughly enjoyed her retirement years. She loved gardening, taking care of her home and socializing with her friends. She was an incredibly talented artist and very creative. She enjoyed knitting, crochet and painting with watercolors. She also loved reading, movies and music. She graced this world with her undeniable presence until the end. A truly remarkable woman. She was a beacon of knowledge, wisdom, and inspiration for all who were fortunate enough to cross her path. Christina lived her life with an immense passion and love and will be greatly missed.
Christina was predeceased by her parents, Erich and Erika Nill and her sister, Barbara. She is survived by her brother, Peter, several nieces and nephews and her neighbors who became family, Bruce, Ian, Mike, Jeanna, Harper and Maverick. She was a woman of immense strength. Even with all she faced, she remained an embodiment of resilience, with a heart full of love and a spirit full of life. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her, and her legacy will continue to inspire long after her departure.
