Catherine Mary Doyle

–

Bremerton, Washington

Catherine "Kay" Doyle passed away in Bremerton, WA. at the age of 95.
She was born in Spokane, WA. to Martin Arnhold and Josephine Schlagel. She had two sisters: Margaret and Rose along with one brother, Bud.
After losing her first husband Raleigh W. Kobloth in the second world war she met and married George R. Doyle in 1946 whom she remained with until his passing in 1984.
Kay resided in several places which include Spokane, Yakima, Wauconda, Seabeck, and Bremerton. She held various jobs in life including the position of "Elevator operator" in her younger years which she liked to joke about!
During the sixties her and husband George managed and operated Skirving's Landfill up until its closing in 1968 where she met many people. Everybody knows everybody back then she would say! She loved spending time with friends and family and looked forward to her weekly visits to spend the day with her son. She had a sharp memory and could tell great stories of her past.
Growing up during the Great Depression taught her to be a conservative person and to enjoy the simple things in life. She had a keen and wicked sense of humor and always put everyone else first, which had a huge impact on everyone she met. Everybody loved her!
She was preceded in death by her daughter Ellen Goehrs and grandson Mark Goehrs. Survivors include a son Robert R. Kobloth; grandchildren: Robert D. Kobloth, Wendy Main (Tom), Theresa Goehrs; great grandchildren Kelsey Shaputis (Justin), Mark Goehrs Je. and nephew Bill Arnhold. She is also survived by her adopted family: the Down's which include Doug, Sue, Brian, Ben, Chrissy, Josh, Charity and their children. I would like to thank Tom and Wendy Main and the Down's Family for their extra loving care and support for her. There will be a large void in the lives of those close to her that can never be filled and a day will never go by that we won't think of her./ The mold was truly broken the day she was born.
"We all love you and are sure going to miss you Gramma D!"
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday August 21st at 1:00pm at 3726 G Street in Bremerton.
