Carol Gloria Eakes

Carol Gloria Eakes, 72, passed away Feb 21, 2011 at her home in Belfair, WA. Carol was born in Lockport, NY, on Jan 23, 1939. She spent most of her life there, until moving to Belfair to be near her son and his family.

Carol was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She was a very selfless and strong woman who raised 3 boys virtually alone. At the age of 50, she earned her GED, an accomplishment of which she was very proud. Until recently, she was a volunteer for the Mason Co. Sheriff's Department in their extension office.

Carol was preceded in death by her mother, Isabel, and her sons, Dane and Ricky. Treasuring her memory are her son, Duane Eakes (Deanna) of Belfair; grandsons, Christopher (Katie) and Kevin; great-grandsons, Daniel and Michael; and dear friends, Cathy St. Pierre and Debbie Coder.
