Carla Leann Halvorson

–

Bremerton, Washington

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Carla Leann Halvorson, our beautiful baby girl, born May 2, 1991, in Bremerton, Washington. Carla passed away on January 9, 2025, in Tacoma, Washington, surrounded by family and friends, following an unexpected brain aneurysm rupture on December 31, 2024.

Carla grew up in a small home off Clear Creek Road, where she spent her early years playing on an acre of grass and a jungle gym lovingly built by her father and grandfather. Her life changed forever with the birth of her brother Eric Jr., whom she cherished deeply. Carla was a devoted big sister, supporting Eric through every milestone, from his youth sports to his high school/college accomplishments and then his adult softball. The bond between them was unlike any other always competing to be the favorite child. She even lived in the duplex attached to his to remain as close as possible, being a constant presence in his life.

Carla attended Clear Creek Elementary, Central Kitsap Junior High, and Central Kitsap High School, where she graduated, she excelled in softball, a passion that continued into adulthood as she traveled across the United States playing in adult leagues and proudly representing Washington in many tournaments. At the time of her passing, Carla worked for QED as a contractor marine electrician, a role she loved for its challenges and camaraderie.

On March 28, 2018, Carla welcomed her son Kacyn into the world "our favorite child". He was the light of her life and is our greatest joy. As a devoted mother, Carla inspired Kacyn to excel in school and athletics; he thrives today in baseball, football, and basketball.

Carla is preceded in death by her grandmother and namesake Carla Zazweta; grandfather Anthony Zazweta; and Uncle Kirk Halvorson. She is survived by her son Kacyn; parents Tina and Eric Sr.; brother Eric Jr.; grandparents Harvey, Lynn, and Nita; aunts Angel and Karin; uncles Ricky and Stacey; cousins Brayden, Sidney, and Joshua; godparents Brian and Michelle Cook; and many other loving family members.

May Carla find peace and joy in the afterlife as she is reunited with her beloved grandparents and uncle. Arrangements are entrusted to Lewis Funeral Chapel in Bremerton, Washington.

Carla's service will be at Silverdale Lutheran Church on February 7, 2025, with the viewing to start at 11:00 am followed by service from 12:00 to 1:30 pm. There will be a funeral procession to Forest Lawn Cemetery in Bremerton, Washington following the service for a graveside service and a final prayer, we will then be proceeding to the celebration of life at Kitsap Golf and Country Club. Please join us for any portion, or all of the ceremonies.
