Robert Raymond Detrick, Jr. Obituary (1963

Robert R. ''Rob'' Detrick, Jr., 39,of Bremerton, passed away January 19, 2003. He was born on October 2, 1963 to Robert R. Detrick, Sr. and Alice Ann (Morgan) Detrick in Newberg, OR. He graduated from Newberg High School in 1982 and from Linfield College in 1984. In 1993 Rob married Sharon Kay Williams. Rob served in the US Navy from 1983 to 1991 and achieved the rank of E-5 Petty Officer 2nd Class. He also worked as a counselor with autisticly gifted individuals at Kitsap Applied Technology in Bremerton. At the age of 15, Rob was selected for the Americas Youth in Concert Choir which toured Europe and England in 1978 which had audiences with Pope Paul II and the English Queen. Rob personally met the Queen Mum. Rob was a longtime member of the Assembly of God Church in Amity, OR and attended the Metropolitan Community Church Newhart in Tacoma, WA. He loved to sing and sang in church choirs. He is survived by his wife; his parents; one daughter, Emily Trigg of Agra, KS; Jason Detrick (Jennifer) of Hillsboro, OR; one sister, Debbie Pearson of Newberg, OR, and 7 grandchildren.
