Marvin Morrison Butler Obituary (1918

Marvin passed away on July 21, 2018 at Brookdale in Kennewick, WA. He was 100 years old. He was born on 07/17/1918 in Fall River, Kansas to John & Gertrude Butler. Marvin served in the Army during World War II, for 3 years and 9 months. He was married 55 years to his first wife, Lorraine (Amber) Butler, who passed away in 2001. He later married Ruth (Brooks) in 2005. He was a member of Lincoln Avenue Bible Church from 1961-2009. Other memberships were Poggie Club (fishery) and Kitsap County Campers. He worked for 27 years as a research developer at Keyport Banger, WA and retired in 1979. As a hobby, Marvin enjoyed raising orchids, raspberries and rhubarb. For Marvin, being with his friends and family were very important to him. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Kenneth and sister Melba. He is survived by his wife Ruth of Kennewick, WA , and his two sons: Dr. John Butler and his wife Esther of Shelton, WA and Russell Butler of Oklahoma City, OK. Grandchildren: Dr. Rima Butler, Tirsa Butler, Kenan Butler, Linnea and David Mulder, and Adriel and Lauren Butler. He has a sister Dorothy Kilts of CA. Stepson Paul Brooks and wife Marlaine Mars and stepdaughter Mary (Brooks) Howard and husband Phil. Step grandchildren: Joshua Brooks and wife Christy and Sandra Wilson and husband Bill, Ben Howard and wife Rachel, Anna Parkin and husband Josh, John Howard and wife Marie, and Rebekah Livermore and husband Cameron. He has 15 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. A viewing will be Friday, July 27 from 1-3pm with a prayer circle at 2:30pm at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Bremerton, WA.
