Lucile Evelyn (Andersen) Clause Obituary (1919

Lucile Evelyn (Andersen) Clause, 94, of Poulsbo, passed away peacefully on Feb 20, 2013. After her birth on Feb 2, 1919 in Sioux City, IA, to Mary and Harry Andersen, Lucile experienced a challenging childhood, including health issues and the loss of her father at age 9. She met and fell in love with a dashing sailor, Bernard (Bud) Clause, marrying him on April 16, 1942 in Kahoka, MO, while he was on leave. They relocated to California during Bud's World War II Navy tour, eventually settling in Concord, CA, where Lucile raised their two young daughters. In 1999, they made their final move to Poulsbo, WA, to be closer to their daughters and their families. Lucile became a rabid fan of the Mariners and Tiger Woods. Bud and Lou were married 65 years before his death in 2007. Lucile was also preceded in death by her four brothers, Marvin, Melvin, Richard and Robert and is survived by her daughters Carol Trice and Barbara Bartholomew (Larry), of Poulsbo, WA, grandchildren, Tyler Bartholomew (Jennifer) of San Marcos, CA, Meghan Bartholomew Ebert (Leighton) of Edmonds, WA and Susan Trice Hoffman (John) of Kingston, WA and great grandchildren, Ava and Aidan Bartholomew of San Marcos, CA and Sabrina and Lillie Hoffman of Kingston, WA. At Lucile's request, there will be no formal service. Arrangements entrusted to The Stone Chapel Poulsbo Mortuary.
