Leith Kent Granzow Obituary (1927

Our beloved brother, father, grandfather, uncle and friend passed early Tuesday morning at Harrison Medical Center after a sudden, unexpected illness. Leith had a full and adventuresome life. Born in Thompson, IA, Leith graduated from high school in Bremerton prior to enlisting in the Navy. As a young man, he fought in the Pacific in WWII, before moving to Alaska. He served as an American volunteer before returning to work most of his adult life at the Naval Shipyard in Bremerton. Leith was a quiet man, but had a great life and enjoyed a good joke as well as hunting, fishing, and crabbing. Leith was preceded in death by his wife, Nola Mae. He is survived by his sisters, Mayme Mamcini, Hariett Ostrander and Ida Mae Grubb; stepsons, Donald and David Johnston; daughter, Kim Sorensen; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces. The family especially wishes to thank Frank and Stephanie Reeve for being with Leith at the end.
