Elvin M. Lee Obituary (1930

Elvin died after a long battle with asbestos-related lung cancer. He was born in Kerrville, Texas, to Victor and Lorena Lee, with brothers Robert, Louis, and Jack. Elvin enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served from 1948-1952; two years in the Korean War. He married Helen W. Schrock in Las Vegas, NV, on November 18, 1951. He worked at Lockheed Aircraft in Los Angeles, CA until 1958 when he moved the family to Garden City, MO. Elvin was a plumber for 8 years until he was hired by Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, WA in 1966. He worked in Shop 56 for 24 years and retired in 1990. Elvin enjoyed playing baseball, fishing, and taking great family vacations. After his retirement, he traveled with his wife Helen until her death in 2002. He loved casino gambling and reading. He is survived by sons David (Carole) of West Seattle and John (Kathy) of Lancaster, CA, daughter Julie (Gary) Carter of Allyn, ten grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 13th, at 2:00 p.m. at Lewis Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to your local Hospice Facility.
