Duray E. DeYoung Obituary (1928

Duray E. DeYoung age 78, of Kingston died September 24, 2006, after a two year battle with cancer. He was born January 27, 1928 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Dowe and Johanna (Breen) DeYoung. Duray attended South Kitsap High School and later graduated from Nooksack Valley High. Duray joined the US Marine Corp Reserves upon graduating High School. He continued his education at the University of Washington for two years before being called to active duty with the US Marines. He served with the G-3-1 unit during the Korean Conflict. After his honorable discharge from the US Marines, Duray went to doing consulting work and eventually retiring both from Boeing and Resource Conservation Management. He enjoyed traveling and genealogy. Duray was an active member of First Lutheran Church of Poulsbo, attending the Monday Men's Group and TROLLS. He is survived by his loving wife Gloria; sons Robert and wife Eva-Marie of Sweden, Charles of Pacific Grove, CA; daughters Carol and husband Kevin Kaae of Boise, Idaho, and Nancy and husband Tim MacDonald of Auburn, WA; brothers Evert and wife MaryJo of Puyallup, Gordon and wife Carol of Minnesota, D. James and wife Lois of Dupont, WA sister Arlyn and grandchildren Jefferson Durham, Lee Allison McCormick, Kristofer, Mikaela and Nicholas DeYoung, Walt and Lacie Ray. A memorial service will be held at First Lutheran Church of Poulsbo on Saturday, September 30, 2006, 11AM. Private inurnment will take place at Tahoma National Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be given to First Lutheran Church of Poulsbo, Lutherhaven Camp or American Cancer Society.
