David Perry Stroud Obituary (1951

David Perry Stroud, 69, of Bremerton, WA, passed away on September 30, 2021. Born on November 3, 1951 in Gray's Harbor Community Hospital to Arthur and Dorothy (Hammell) Stroud, David went on to graduate high school and serve in the US Army from 1970-1973 achieving the rank of SP4. David was a door gunner on a Huey Helicopter, serving 2 tours in Vietnam and was stationed at Fort Lewis. During his service, David received the National defense service metal, Expert marksmanship- M-16, Vietnam service metal, Army combat badge, Republic of Vietnam campaign metal (more than 6 months in Vietnam), and Overseas service bars. After serving his country with honor, David went on to work at PSNS in Shop 11 as a Shipfitter, for 37 years. He also received an AA degree in Art and Science from Olympic College. In his spare time, David enjoyed scuba diving and fishing, was a Sudoku enthusiast and rock hound. David loved playing with his grandchildren, enjoyed family gatherings, and football watching with his future son-in-law, Derek Clark. David is preceded in death by his parents. David's memory will live on with his son, Richard Stroud of Bremerton, WA; daughter, Amanda Stroud of Bremeton, WA; brothers, Steve, Don, Kim and Mike Stroud; sister, Kathy Aarhaus; 7 grandchildren; step daughter, Sherii Parcel; and close friend, Marge Smith. Public viewing will be held at Lewis Funeral Chapel on Friday, October 15th from 11-12:30pm with funeral services to follow at 1:00pm.
