Cindy Marie Morrissey Obituary (1958

Cindy Marie Morrissey, 47, of Port Orchard passed away Wednesday, 19 July 2006 at Harborview Medical Center following a tragic motorcycle accident on Highway 16. Cindy had close ties with the Kitsap community. She was born at Harrison Hospital in Bremerton. Cindy graduated from Central Kitsap High School in 1976. After several minor jobs she found her true vocation. She started at Washington Mutual in Seattle in the Pay-by-Phone Department and later moved into the Automated Teller Machines (ATMs). In 1984 she accepted a job at Kitsap Credit Union setting up ATM's kiosks around the local area and starting the Visa Card System. She later moved to her final position at KCU as Manager and Applications System Analyst, spending many hours dedicating herself to keeping KCU's computer system operating, even during the relocation of KCU to the new building at 2nd and Washington. He co-workers and family will miss her dedication, efforts and sense of humor, plus "I'll do it myself" attitude. After work hours, she donated her time, money and energy to helping the community. For several years she organized and managed the Silverdale Whaling Days Milk Carton Derby. With her son, she participated in the Cancer Relay for Life. And for the last 8 years, she did the accounting and managed the on-site proceeds received during the 3-day Harrison Medical Center Festival of Trees. She was also Director of the Ladies of Harley and helped raise funds for the YWCA Alive Shelter, along with gathering a large number of cell phones and the making of Easter Baskets for the shelter. In her free time she loved arts and crafts, playing softball, going hot air ballooning, monster trucks, wine tastings, fishing with Jim, walks on the beach, and participating in motorcycle events. She was a member of the Harley Owners Group and went on many rides and rallies with fellow members. She loved animals and always had pets from the time she was a child, starting with a Keeshound show dog and recently with her Jack Russell terrier, Cosmo Survivors: Cindy was the daughter of Lance and Trenna Otis of Port Orchard and Rudy and Linda Pineau of Bremerton. Her son Cody Morrissey of Bremerton, her partner Jim Hanson of Port Orchard. A brother Brad (wife Diane) Pineau , nieces Alexandra, Georgia, nephew Dane of Melbourne, Australia, Pat.Grandmother Emma Hulse of Bremerton, Wa., Stpbrother Michael (wife Rachel) Otis nephew Luke & niece Francesca of Friday Harbor, Wa., Stpsister Sherry Price, nephew Jason of Friday Harbor, Wa.
